Cyprus company Winterlux Limited being in beneficial ownership of Chairman of Board of Directors of group of companies “Renova” Viktor Vekselberg, applied to the Federal Antimonopoly service (FAS) the petition for preliminary consent for the purchase of 19.71% of the voting shares of the Bank “international financial club” (MFK), it is reported on the Agency’s website. The transaction Winterlux will become the owner of 39,42% of the Bank, the report says. The petition was received in the FAS of 28 June, the review period is 30 days.
Whose share in IFC claims Winterlux in message FAS is not disclosed. “Vedomosti” citing a source close to one of the parties to the transaction, write that the package sells ONEXIM.
Currently the main shareholder of IFC is Mikhail Prokhorov. He personally accounting period by 27.74% of the shares, even of 19.71% of ONEXIM group, which manages assets of businessman. Earlier in the beginning of July “Vedomosti” with reference to sources reported that ONEXIM sells all owned assets, including a stake in IFC. One of the interlocutors of the newspaper said that there are unconfirmed rumors that the sale of assets can be a strong recommendation of the Kremlin. In turn, the press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov called this information “complete nonsense”.
The General Director Oneksima Dmitry Razumov, commenting, “Vedomosti” reported that the group has not taken any decisions on the sale of assets. “In our many assets is always something going on. We are in talks about buying and selling, the involvement of partners in respect of certain assets,” he explained, noting that to do on the basis of this conclusion a “sale of all assets in Russia” is incorrect.
Razumov also said that ONEXIM will remain an important player on the Russian market and intends to pay special attention to the development of banking institutions.
