As reported by Lragir.am a reference to a party to an armed group that seized a police building in Yerevan, the building had let one of the hostages.
The police were released as a goodwill gesture on the proposal of the leader of the armed group Zhirayr Sefilyan, the newspaper notes.
Hostages, thus, there are five people. Among them — the Deputy chief of police Vardan Yeghiazaryan, Deputy head of the Yerevan police Valery Osipyan.
The police station in Yerevan was captured on the morning of 17 July. Several police officers were taken hostage and two were seriously injured and the Deputy commander of regiment of patrol police Department in Yerevan Arthur Vanoyan was killed.
The attackers demanded the release from prison of a party to the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh Zhirayr Sefilyan, who is suspected of illegal acquisition and possession of weapons. Later it became known that they demanded the resignation of the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan and the formation of a new government.
After the attack on the police in Yerevan detained about 200 people on suspicion of involvement in an armed group.
