State-owned companies will be obliged to give preference to Russian software

First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov on July 11 issued a Directive to state representatives in the management of state-owned companies with the request to hold meetings of boards of Directors, dealing in part with the transition to purchases of Russian. According to the document, a copy of which is at the disposal of “Vedomosti”, the representatives of the state in boards of Directors is mandated to vote for the introduction of the provisions on the procurement procedures of companies of the changes.

One of the requirements for the purchased state-owned companies the software should be its presence in the Unified register of the Russian programs for electronic computers and databases. Earlier, in early June, Shuvalov said that the government will not force the Russian companies to use Russian software to the detriment of competition.
