The head of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin for the first time commented on the arrest of high-ranking employees of his Department. In an interview to “Rossiyskaya Gazeta”, he called the actions of those arrested “betrayal” and promised that the work of purification of the TFR and other law enforcement agencies will continue.
“I will not dissemble: the topic is unpleasant, even painful. But to ignore her is impossible, we will not bury our heads in the sand. The work of purification of the ranks of the RCS and all other law enforcement agencies will continue”, — said Bastrykin.
“And I want to emphasize that the arrest of senior officials of the RF IC in any case should not cast a shadow on the thousands of honest and decent professionals of the Investigative Committee, who stand on guard of legality and law and order. Regard the incident, including, and as a betrayal of the memory of our fallen in the line of duty comrades.
