The Prosecutor General’s office has recorded a new growth of crime in Russia

For the first six months of 2016 in Russia was recorded an increase in crime, said Deputy Prosecutor General Alexander Buksman, speaking at the semiannual Board of the Supervisory authority. According to him, the number of registered crimes increased by 3% and reached 1.18 million cases.

At the same time, as noted by Buksman, the number of economic crimes decreased by 2.1%.

In late April, Prosecutor General Yuri Chaika at a plenary session of the Federation Council said that in 2015 the level of crime, compared with 2014 increased by 9%, and in Bashkortostan, the Murmansk and Yaroslavl regions, the figure was 44%. Chaika explained that the registration of crimes small and average weight. However, he claimed that the percentage of serious crimes was reduced to 16.5%, and particularly serious to 5.3%.

In mid-June the interior Ministry reported a sharp increase in the number of terrorist crimes in the first five months of 2016. In all there were 1035 of such crimes against 664 for the same period in 2015.

The interior Ministry in March criticized Vladimir Putin that indicated that the police had not complied with standing in front of her “basic task”. “Maybe this is the result of objective statistics, which is good. But the fact that crime is growing, this is bad,” — said the head of state.
