Moscow has asked Thailand to extradite arrested on the request of the U.S. Rossiniana

Russian Prosecutor General’s office sent a request for extradition Dmitry Ukrainian, who was arrested in Thailand at the request of the United States. This was reported by the official representative of Department Alexander Kurennoy.

“The Russian side was handed over the request on extradition of Russian citizen Dmitry Ukrainian. This document is provided as a procedure of extradition and the possibility of deportation,” said Kurennoy (quoted by TASS).

Ukrainian arrested in Thailand at the request of the FBI on July 21. This happened in Pattaya, where, as explained by the authorities, he owned a company who rent the yacht. Russians accused of involvement in the theft of more than $30 million from the maps of U.S. citizens.

The Ukrainian said that during his detention was attended by representatives of the FBI. “The detention was attended by two Americans, who introduced themselves as employees of the FBI, who immediately offered me to voluntarily go to U.S. to stand trial,” said he, “RIA Novosti”. The offer he responded with a written refusal.

The arrested Russians announced plans to “fight against extradition”, it denies the fault. The Ukrainian has suggested that the request from the USA for his extradition can be ready within a month.

In Moscow after the arrest of Ukrainian declared the inadmissibility of his extradition to the United States. In this regard, the Russian foreign Ministry has sent Thailand a protest note.
