In the year since the entry into force of the decree for the destruction of imported in circumvention of the embargo of products, the Rosselkhoznadzor has destroyed more than 7.5 thousand tons of different products, including approximately 7,282 thousand tons of vegetables and fruits and less than 300 tons of animal products, reports TASS with reference to the Department.
According to Rosselkhoznadzor, the most “sanctioned” vegetables and fruits were destroyed in the Bryansk and Smolensk (more than 2.7 thousand tons), as well as Tver and Pskov regions (about 1.9 tons). This files most often destroyed illegally imported into Russia apples, pears, peaches, tomatoes and eggplants as well as strawberries, oranges, nectarines and grapes.
Animal products are often destroyed in Saint-Petersburg and Leningrad region (71 tons).
“Very ingenious ways of importation of illegal animal products have been identified in the Leningrad region, where under the guise of chewing gum, juices, chemical and other products I tried to import banned meat,” – said the representative of Rosselkhoznadzor Julia Melano.
Russian President Vladimir Putin on 29 July 2015 signed a decree for the destruction of imported into Russia in spite of retaliatory sanctions of agricultural products, raw materials and food from the USA, European Union, Canada, Australia, Norway, Albania, Montenegro, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Ukraine. In virtue of the decree entered August 6, 2015. The government has allowed to destroy the sanctions of the products in any way, but under the video, with witnesses.
