X5 Retail Group has come to Siberia


One of the largest retailers in Russia, group X5 Retail Group announced the beginning of work in Siberia and the creation of the Siberian division of Pyaterochka. The first five retail stores with a total area about 3 thousand sq. m opened in Novosibirsk until the end of the year they plan to add more than 60 stores in the Novosibirsk, Kemerovo, Novokuznetsk and Omsk.

Just the next two years, X5 Retail Group expects to open in the Novosibirsk, Kemerovo, Omsk and Tomsk regions and Altai Krai 150 shops and three major distribution center. The first center will work until the end of 2017 in Novosibirsk, in 2018, two more will be opened in Krasnoyarsk and Omsk.

Prior to opening his own center to provide delivery to Novosibirsk shops “Pyaterochka” is a distribution center located in the city of Ob, Novosibirsk region. The group also reported that of the products already supplied in Novosibirsk shops “Pyaterochka” directly from local producers, and the proportion of Siberian producers (17 suppliers of the Novosibirsk region, more than 40 from other regions of Siberia) in the turnover of shops is now about 17%.

“Assortment of bakery products, frozen food, eggs and chilled poultry meat by almost 100% generated from the local products. In the future, every fifth item in the Siberian “Pjaterochka” will be from local producers”, — underlined in the message X5.

The company also noted that in the future products manufacturers of Novosibirsk will be supplied to neighbouring regions.

On the market of food retail of Siberian Federal of the major retailers already represented “Magnet”, “Tape” and “Auchan”. By the end of 2015 in the Siberian Federal district worked 428 stores under the brand “Magnit” and two distribution center (Omsk and Novosibirsk). Increasing the density of outlets in Siberian Federal district and the increased presence in the market of Western Siberia in the report of “Magnet” in 2015 it was listed among the priorities for the next two to three years.

The “Tape” on the share of stores opened in the regions of the Siberian Federal district, by the end of 2015 accounted for 20% of the total sales area of the network. The company’s stores operate in the Altai and Krasnoyarsk territories, Irkutsk, Kemerovo, Novosibirsk, Tomsk, and Tyumen regions.

The Auchan store currently open in the cities of the Altai territory, Kemerovo, Novosibirsk and Tyumen regions. In December 2016 the company plans to open its first hypermarket in Krasnoyarsk region.
