The US state Department has suspected Russia of violating the resolution of the UN security Council

Toner said that Russia’s use of military base in Iran for strikes on the positions of terrorists in Russia banned the “Islamic state” may be contrary to resolution No. 2231 of the UN security Council, reports Reuters.

Toner also noted that the United States continue to study the information on the basis of Hamadan, calling this fact “it is regrettable but not surprising”.

State Department spokesman stressed that Russia’s use of bases in Iran will not necessarily prevent the agreement between Washington and Moscow on the joint fight against terrorists in Syria. He again accused the Russian side in the strikes on the groups of the moderate Syrian opposition.

The resolution referred to in the statement of the foreign Department of the USA was adopted in July 2015, and applies to the Iranian nuclear program.

On the morning of 16 August it became known that the Tu-22MZ of Russian air force arrived at the base Hamadan in Iran to out airstrikes on militant positions.
