Moscow and Minsk after a series of meetings at the level of ministries and Deputy Prime Ministers tentatively agreed on a new pricing scheme for Russian gas, writes “Kommersant” with reference to familiar with the discussion of the sources.
As told by sources, the formula for determining the price of gas will change completely, it will leave the dollar part and it will become fully the ruble, which will reduce risks of Belarus related to the fluctuation of the dollar.
From 2017, said sources, the gas price for Belarus will be determined by the average price at the unified gas supply system (UGSS) of Russia multiplied by the multiplying factor. In 2017, the average price will be about 4,05 thousand rbl. for 1 thousand cubic meters and multiplying factor of approximately 1,48. Thus, the price for Belarus in 2017 will be about 6 thousand rbl. for 1 thousand cubic meters. In the remaining months of 2016 gas to Belarus will be supplied at the fixed price of 6.3 thousand rubles. for 1 thousand cubic meters.
Thus, the newspaper notes, the price of Russian gas for Belarus will be reduced approximately to $100 per 1 thousand cubic meters from the current $132.
By 2025, the price of gas for Minsk should on average equal the price for Russian consumers, as the parties agreed that the multiplying factor will gradually decrease and by 2025 it will be equal to one.
