Putin has dismissed two generals of the TFR

We are talking about GU, the Deputy head of the procedural control in the sphere of counteraction of corruption, the General-major Dmitry Shershakov and first Deputy head of state security activities of SK Vitaly Frolov.

Shershakov previously served in Misprocurement, was the head Perovskoy Interdistrict Prosecutor’s office and oversaw the investigative Department of the TFR in the South-Western district of the capital. For the post of Deputy head of the Chief Directorate (GU) of the procedural control in the sphere of counteraction of corruption Shershakov was appointed in August 2012.

Frolov became the first Deputy head of the Department of ensuring activities of the TFR in April 2011. He was appointed by the then President Dmitry Medvedev.

“Kommersant” with reference to sources in February 2015 called shershakova one of the main contenders for the post of chief investigator of the TFR in Moscow.

July 19, the court arrested three members of the Investigative Committee of Russia — the head of management of own safety of the Department Mikhail Maksimenko, his Deputy Alexander Limonova and Deputy chief of a capital Central Board Denis Nikandrov. They were charged with receiving a bribe in especially large size. According to investigators, employees of SKR received a bribe from the owner of Zakhary Kalashov, also known as thief in law Shakro Young.

The head of the RCDS Bastrykin called the actions of those arrested “betrayal” and noted that the work “to clean up the ranks of the RCS and all other law enforcement agencies will continue in the future”. Later, the “Kommersant” with reference to sources reported that the arrests of high-ranking officers of the TFR coincided with the reform in the Department, initiated by Bastrykin. At the same time, the source of “Interfax”, close to the power Ministry, reported that the reorganization is not related to the corruption scandal, and with the need of cost optimization.
