Lavrov has accused the West of double standards in relation to the coup

The Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov stated about the double standards of the West towards the coup. This opinion, according to “RIA Novosti”, the Russian foreign Minister said in an interview with the Council on foreign and defense policy of Russia, timed to the opening of the Eastern economic forum in Vladivostok.

The Minister noted that the situation with the coup in Ukraine, the West actively supported him and “to strengthen the us role and influence on the European countries has created the threat from Russia”. However, in a situation of coup attempt in Turkey, according to Lavrov, the Western partners claim that “coups unacceptable”.

“The double standards are obvious. None of our Western partners do not come to mind to say about Ukraine that now say about the coup attempt in Turkey that coups are unacceptable,” Lavrov said (quoted by “RIA Novosti”).

Lavrov reminded that any obligations, such as those signed by France, Germany and Poland on 20 February 2014, with the support of the agreement between Viktor Yanukovych and the opposition against Turkey was not.

“The next morning it all collapsed, they washed their hands, saying, “it happened, sorry.” When we tried to shame them, saying that the deal was they guaranteed, they are left in the shade, hid in the bushes, embarrassed,” – said Lavrov. He also said that the United States asked Moscow to support this agreement, “and when we did it, and the agreement already the next morning was “crushed”, too shamefully silent”. “This hypocrisy,” added Lavrov.
