Dvorkovich called false reports of a new gas pricing formula for Belarus


Russian Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich told reporters on Thursday that the reports about the agreement to change the formula of gas price for Belarus is untrue, reports “Interfax”. Earlier that Russia and Belarus had previously agreed on a new pricing scheme for Russian gas, according to the newspaper “Kommersant”.

“I can only say that everything that was written about something agreed, it’s all true. It is all false information not corresponding to reality,” — said Dvorkovich. He added that negotiations on this issue with Minsk continues.

The dispute on the terms of gas deliveries to Belarus since the beginning of this year. The average price for 1 thousand cubic meters of gas next year will be about 6 thousand rubles, and in the remaining months of 2016 – 6,3 thousand rbl. for 1 thousand cubic meters of gas, said sources.

In the third quarter of this year, Russia has cut oil supplies to Belarus from 5.3 million tons to 3.5 million tons. Minister of energy Alexander Novak and Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich explained that the decline in supply is due to a conflict over arrears of Belarus for Russian gas. Later, Novak said that the gas talks have been positive changes.
