At a meeting with ambassadors of the countries “the Big seven” and the European Union the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko urged them not to recognize the results of elections to the State Duma, which will be held in Crimea and Sevastopol. This is stated in the message on the official website of the President of Ukraine.
“The President also admitted to not recognize legitimacy of parliamentary elections of the Russian Federation, which Moscow is trying to hold in the occupied Crimea and Sevastopol”, — stated in the message.
At the same meeting, Poroshenko said that “the sanctions pressure on Moscow has demonstrated its effectiveness and should be maintained until a full resumption of sovereignty and territorial integrity of our state.”
At the same time, the press Secretary of the Foreign diplomatic service of the EU Maya Kocijancic, the question of the correspondent of the UNIAN reports. on recognizing the election to the Duma in connection with the voting in the Crimea and Sevastopol did not give a direct answer.
“We, as EU, we will give our assessment of the elections to the Duma, based on the report of the OSCE/ODIHR. That’s what I can tell. As of today I can’t go on and talk about the next step,” — said Kosyanchich. However, she noted that the observation mission of the OSCE/ODIHR will not run and monitor the elections in Crimea and Sevastopol. “We do not recognize the illegal annexation of Crimea and supported the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine, and all our actions are in this direction,” — said Kosyanchich.
Earlier, Chairman of the Ukrainian Central election Commission Andriy Mahera said that the majority of deputies of the state Duma of the new convocation will be elected is illegitimate. According to his calculations, half of the deputies of the state Duma of 225 people — will be elected on the Federal list, and in the Federal district included the Crimea and Sevastopol. Since the international community has not recognized the accession of these territories to Russia, the elections will be illegitimate, said Mahera. Four more deputies are elected in single-seat constituencies in Crimea and Sevastopol.

September 10, foreign Ministry of Ukraine has put forward the requirements for the conduct of the Russian elections in Ukraine. Among the conditions was the rejection of elections in the Crimea. Kiev is also required to exclude “from the Federal lists of candidates nominated by the Russian political parties included in the regional groups that cover the temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation the territory of Ukraine”.
Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said that these conditions “may not be taken into account in any circumstances.” According to him, “Russia is not ready to discuss the electoral process in its territory to any countries.”
