The CEC organized the polling stations for elections in the border countries of Ukraine

The head of the Central election Commission, Ella Pamfilova in interview “RIA Novosti” expressed hope that the Ukrainian authorities canceled the prohibition on the conduct of Russian elections in Ukraine. In her opinion, otherwise, this situation “can backfire and Ukraine itself in unexpected ways”.

“But just in case, we have also organised polling stations in the bordering countries of Ukraine, with their consent,” — said Pamfilova.

According to the head of the CEC, the decision of Kiev threw her in extreme amazement, she called the situation with the ban on voting “absurd.”

On 10 September the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko instructed the head of the Ukrainian foreign Ministry to inform Moscow about the impossibility of holding the elections on the territory of Ukraine.

The head of Russia’s Central election Commission after the statement of Kiev announced that the CEC will soon discuss this issue with the Russian foreign Ministry. The Russian foreign Ministry, in its ocheredi, Kiev demanded an official explanation of the refusal to the Russian elections in Ukraine.

Kiev said in response that he believes the vote is impossible because of Moscow’s intentions to hold elections in Crimea, which he considers to be occupied territory

Later the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine announced the terms under which Kiev agreed to hold a vote. Among them — the refusal of the electoral Crimea, which Kyiv considers to be occupied territory, as well as “exclusion from the Federal lists of candidates nominated by the Russian political parties included in the regional groups that cover the temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation the territory of Ukraine”.
