The decree on appointment of Deputy General Director for strategic and corporate development, Gazprom Mezhregiongaz” (100% subsidiary of Gazprom) Karapetyan as the new Prime Minister of the country was signed by the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, informed the press-service of the head of state. It is expected that in the coming days Karapetyan will present the composition of his Cabinet.
In his new position, he will replace Hovik Abrahamyan, who is in the middle of last week resigned, citing the need for new approaches to the management of the state.
That place Abrahamyan with high probability is a 53-year-old native of Nagorno-Karabakh, Karapetyan, citing experts, reported Reuters
. In 2000-ies Karapetyan headed the Armenian branch of “Gazprom” (former ArmRosgazprom), then in 2010-2011 he held the post of mayor of Yerevan. In 2011 returned to a familiar structure: first, there was the first Vice President of Gazprombank and then worked at top management positions in different structures of “Gazprom”.
