Russia banned vegetables and fruits from Egypt

Ban Egyptian vegetables and fruit reported to “Interfax” Deputy head of the Rosselkhoznadzor Julia Shvabauskene.

“From September 22 imposes temporary restrictions on import of fruits and vegetables from Egypt. Speech, in particular, citrus fruits, tomatoes, potatoes and other products,” she said.

That Rosselkhoznadzor may impose temporary restrictions on the import into Russia of products of high phytosanitary risk from Egypt, it became known this week, November 13, from the message on the website of the service. From this it followed that when the supply of regulated products were revealed systematic violations of international and Russian phytosanitary requirements, which aroused the concern of the Rosselkhoznadzor before the mass export of citrus from Egypt.

The communication stressed that the Egyptian authorities failed to take adequate measures to remedy the situation, “despite numerous requests of the Rosselkhoznadzor”.
