Roskosmos has announced a competition for the calculation of the trajectories of flights to the moon and Mars

According to the documentation posted on the website of public procurement, the state Corporation “Rosatom” announced a contest for the calculation of the trajectory to the moon, Mars and Jupiter. The value of the contract — 126,961 million rubles, will be nanced from the Federal budget.

In the technical specification to the tender stated that the contract needs to be executed before 30 November 2018.

It is expected that the contractor shall conduct research aimed at the preparation and implementation of space missions in near and far space.

“In the course of such research are improving and developing new techniques, methods, algorithms, software and mathematical support for selection and optimization of trajectories and ballistic schemes of motion of space vehicles”, — stated in the terms of reference.

Work involves the calculation of flight trajectories of interplanetary spacecraft to Mars and the moon, trajectories, descent and landing on the moon, control of the landing apparatus in the atmosphere of Mars, as well as management of an artificial satellite of Mars and Jupiter, using aerodynamic braking in the atmosphere of these planets. In addition, the competition involves the calculation of orbital parameters for the disposal of old satellites, calculation of parameters of the evasive maneuvers of the spacecraft from colliding with other spacecraft and space debris, and other work.

All tasks must be performed in the framework of the Federal space program for 2016-2025.

Earlier, in early may of this year, “Roskosmos” reported that the state Corporation and the European space Agency (EKA) has transferred the second phase of the joint project on Mars exploration c 2018 to 2020. March 14, 2016 launched the first phase of the project from Baikonur with the carrier rocket “proton-M” in space was launched apparatus “ExoMars-2016” with the orbital module TGO (Trace Gas Orbiter) and spokeman device Schiaparelli. The device is expected to arrive to Mars in October 2016.

The second mission “Eczemas” include a landing platform and a Rover, also plan to launch a carrier rocket “proton-M” with Baikonur.

At the end of April, the head of Roscosmos Igor Komarov said that the interest in the joint with the Moscow projects on the exploration of Mars, moon and other planets shows in Beijing. “We began to discuss joint projects in research of other planets, there is interest in our project Mars together with EKA, and we are currently discussing with Chinese counterparts, which may be useful for them in our experiments and that may be useful for us… Also actively working on cooperation in the exploration of Mars and moon”, — said the head goskorparatsii.
