Lecturer of MSTU named after Bauman received seven years for treason


Teacher BGTU im. Technical officer, Central research Institute of machine building (TsNIIMash) Vladimir lapygin sentenced to seven years strict regime penal colony for treason, reports TASS with reference to the representative of the Moscow city court. The decision of the court delivered on 6 September.

Lapygin was found guilty under article 275 of the criminal code (“treason”). The scientist was taken into custody in the courtroom. The process took place behind closed doors due to the fact that the case file contained “classified”, explained the representative of the court.

The investigation accused lapagina transfer abroad of information constituting a state secret. Details of the proceedings initiated against Lapagina is not given.
