The Kremlin called unacceptable rhetoric of the U.S. against Russia on Syria

Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov called unacceptable made at the UN security Council to representatives of the UK and the USA, dedicated to Russia’s actions in Syria. The Kremlin believes that such rhetoric is likely to harm the settlement in Syria.

“We, as a whole noting the unacceptability of tone, rhetoric of official representatives of great Britain and the United States, noting that such rhetoric can cause serious harm to the settlement process and our bilateral relations, in the interests of the highest ideas of settlement of the tendency to abstract from unnecessary emotions”, — said Peskov (quoted by “Interfax”).

An emergency meeting of the UN security Council on the situation in Syria, took place on 25 September. It is the U.S. permanent representative to the UN Samantha Power has called “the barbarism” of Russia’s actions. “What Russia is doing is barbaric actions, it is not the fight against terrorists,” said Power, adding that within several days, Russian and Syrian military launched several attacks, which killed more than 130 people.

In turn, British Ambassador to Matb Richport asked Moscow to make efforts to stop the bloodshed. According to him, Russia should save and not to block efforts to resume the cease-fire,” as well as “to create, not to destroy conditions that are necessary for the resumption of political negotiations.”
