The Russian presidential aide Vladislav Surkov and the assistant Secretary of state for European and Eurasian Affairs Victoria Nuland during a meeting in Moscow have agreed to increase pressure on Kiev to accelerate the implementation of the Minsk agreements and direct dialogue with the Donbass, said “RIA Novosti” political analyst Alexei Chesnakov familiar with the meeting.
According to him, and Surkov, Nuland discussed “the issues of withdrawal of forces in agreed areas, complicated by the failure of the agreements by the Ukrainian side”. “It was noted that Ukraine submitted a proposal for the implementation of the political settlement of claims that do not correspond to the Minsk agreements,” — said Chesnakov.
In addition, “it was noted with satisfaction that the OSCE SMM has free access to the border areas and during August and September one hundred and forty five times resulted in inspection, found no violations and especially no foreign troops,” said the analyst. The parties also reviewed the ongoing work of the Minsk agreements, political issues, security issues and humanitarian Affairs, said at the American Embassy.
