The President of Russia Vladimir Putin has appointed major-General of justice Mikhail Gurevich for several months headed the investigative group on the “swamp case”, Deputy head of the main investigative Department of the investigative Committee of Russia (TFR) — the head of management on investigation of especially important cases about crimes against the person and public safety. The corresponding decree was published on Friday on the official Internet portal of legal information.
Earlier, Gurevich was the senior investigator for particularly important cases when the Chairman of the TFR. He signed the decision about excitation of criminal case after clashes on Bolotnaya square in may 2012. When it began the first investigative actions, searches and detention of the defendants. Gurevich and Rustam Gabdulin signed key documents in the case, including the charges against the defendants in the accusation and petition to the court about their arrest.
