French President Francois Hollande said that while “asks” to accept or no President of Russia Vladimir Putin during a visit to Paris, which is scheduled for October 19. This is the French President said in an interview for the TV channel TMC, full version of which will be released on Monday.
“I may meet with Vladimir Putin. I asked myself a question [on this score],” said Hollande.
In clarifying the remark of the journalist in question whether the meeting, Hollande said: “I asked myself. Is it useful? Is that necessary? Will there be some impact? If you can do something that will be able to stop what he [Putin] is doing with the Syrian regime? That is, the support of the air forces of the regime that dropped bombs on Aleppo residents? So I ask myself the question, whether to accept Vladimir Putin. And if I meet him I’ll tell him that this is unacceptable and seriously affects the image of Russia”.
About Putin’s visit to France at the invitation of Hollande, it became known on September 16. As told the press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov, such a visit is being prepared. Later, the Minister of foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov after meeting with his French counterpart Jean-Marc Ayrault in Moscow said that at the meeting of the two leaders in Paris will discuss the state of bilateral relations and international issues, including Syria and Ukraine.
