“Mail of Russia” has launched a “competitor AliExpress”


“Mail of Russia” has launched a new online trading platform “Postmarket”. About this “Kommersant” said Deputy Director-General of the postal business Inessa Galaktionova.

According to her, the project brought together a website market.pochta.ru and trade through paper catalogs in 42 thousand post offices. The organization expects to reach a competitive market in remote and hard-to-reach regions of Russia.

According to market participants, “Postmarket” will be able to compete with the Chinese AliExpress. The President of the National Association of remote trade Alexander Ivanov stressed that the Chinese Playground “in our bearish corners handles exactly the same niche, and very successful.”

The new trading platform will be built so that at post offices customers can order gifts, Christmas decorations, home textiles, household appliances, accessories, and cosmetics. Currently, in the printed catalogue there are about 100 items on the website market.pochta.ru — more than 10 thousand

In 2014 “Mail of Russia” announced its intention to create its own trading web site. The postal operator had planned to take the costs to promote products and earn commissions from sales.

Earlier, on 10 October, “Mail of Russia” reported on his work for the first half and came to the conclusion that the volume of processed international shipments from January to September this year increased 1.9 times. Since January, the organization sent roughly at 145.5 million international parcels, small packets and EMS items. In 2015, according to state-owned companies, this figure was 78.5 million parcels.

According to the report of the Association of companies the Internet-trade (AKIT) in the first half of 2016, the proportion of “Mail of Russia” in the market of delivery of goods e-commerce grew 12 percentage points to 63%.
