Moscow. 13 Oct. “Mail of Russia” has launched a trading platform “Postmarket”, reports “Kommersant” with reference to the General Director of FGUP mail business Inessa Galaktionova. The event will be held the website market.pochta.ru and trade through paper catalogs in 42 thousand post offices. The postal operator expects that the project will be popular among residents of remote and inaccessible regions: in the opinion of market participants, there he will be able to compete with the Chinese AliExpress.
According to Galaktionov, partners “Postmarket” have become the operator of remote trade “Otto Group Russia”, the store “Daughters-sons”, publishing house “Eksmo” and a hypermarket of the goods for health and beauty Gessmarket. Until the end of the year it is planned to increase the number of partners to ten and place their goods in the online version of the catalog. Customers can order goods at the post office; in the printed catalogue there are about 100 items, and the site – tens of thousands. As explained by the newspaper’s Director of e-business development Bank-by-Mail Anastasiya Maslennikova, the Bank is considering the possibility of running credit card payments on the site and service credits for online purchases.
According to the President of the National Association of distance trade Alexander Ivanov, the new service can zavoevat popularity among people who are accustomed to shopping via paper catalogs, the circulation of which has been falling every year. He explained “Kommersant” that “Postmarket” will be able to speak Chinese competitor AliExpress that “we bear the corners, handles exactly the same niche, and very successful.”
