The Minister of defence of Poland announced the sale of Egypt “Mistral” Russia


The Minister of defence of Poland Anthony Macierewicz said that Egypt had sold Russia two vertoletnomu “Mistral”, which was built in France specifically for the Russian Navy, but after the termination of the contract sold to Cairo. As reported by the Associated Press, Macierewicz said during a parliamentary debate on Thursday.

Russia has signed a contract with France for the supply of helicopter carrier type “Mistral” in June 2011. In the end, the ships “Vladivostok” and “Sevastopol” was not transferred to Moscow. The performance of the contract was frustrated because of the situation in Ukraine. Later, Paris said about the termination of the contract.

In September last year, the French National Assembly announced the exact amount of compensation that the French government paid for breach of contract. It amounted to €949,7 million
