Kiev responded to the statement “Belavia” about the threat to raise fighters

The security service of Ukraine has denied information about the threat to raise fighters for the return to Kiev of the aircraft “Belavia”. That this information is untrue, said on air of the Ukrainian TV channel “112 Ukraine” the head of the SBU Oleksandr Tkachuk.

“The aircraft has for some time been in the air. At the request of the air traffic controller this Board has quietly made the appropriate maneuvers and landed at the airport, where was carried out the necessary verification activities to verify that any threat to Ukraine’s national interests and national security of our state is localized”, — he said.

Tkachuk replied to the question, is it true that the air had to go up fighters. “I think it’s a bit absurd to think that our military aircraft can be used against the civilian side,” he said (quoted by “Interfax-Ukraine”).

In turn a press-the Secretary of SBU Elena Gitlyanskaya said that was the reason for the return of the aircraft of the Belarusian airline. On his page on Facebook she announced that the SBU has received information about the foreign citizen and the possible threat to national security.

“We immediately informed the SE “UkSATSE”. By the time when the Manager contacted the pilot, the plane has a few minutes was in the air,” said Gilanskaya. The speaker of SBU added that “after the test events, we were convinced that the threat to national security is localized. SBU acted and will act within its competence to ensure the security of the country and its citizens,” she added.
