The Kremlin responded to the statements of Poland about selling Egypt “Mistral” Russia

Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov commented on the statement of the Minister of defence of Poland, Anthony Makarevich, who told us about the Cairo sale of the “Mistela” Russia. He called these claims “complete nonsense”.

Earlier, Macierewicz talked about the fact that Egypt allegedly sold Russia two helicopter carrier “Mistral”. As reported by the Associated Press, such statement of Makarevicha was made during a parliamentary debate on Thursday. Later he Macierewicz told reporters that information about the sale of Russian “Mistral” from his “good sources”.

“Well, it’s complete nonsense,” — said Peskov in interview to the program “Vesti on Saturday”, a fragment of which was shown live on “Russia 1” on Friday night. “I don’t think that’s reliable sources, and I think that, apparently, this is due to some unnecessary emotional background that dominates the last week in Warsaw. Background, which, unfortunately, is not all to digest, not all are able to adequately react to it,” — said Peskov (quoted by “Interfax”).

Earlier on Friday, the statements of Makarevicha about the resale of “Mistral” commented the Ministry of defence. Agency spokesman Igor Konashenkov called them the “Friday’s folly”. “The statement of Anthony Makarevich on the acquisition by Russia from Egypt “Mistral” — Friday stupidity. Exaltation of the Polish defense Minister is no longer a secret even in Poland. This assertion, like many others pearls are made Makarevichem for self-promotion. But it is a problem of the Polish leadership, not ours,” he said.

The contract for the supply of “Mistral” between France and Russia was signed in June 2011. Paris had to supply Moscow two helicopter — “Vladivostok” and “Sevastopol”. Because of the situation in Ukraine, Paris has decided to refuse performance of the contract and to pay the compensation. Built for the Russian ships were sold to Egypt.
