Roshen surprised awareness of Putin on the activities of the factory in Lipetsk

President of the Ukrainian concern Roshen Vyacheslav Moskalevsky commented on the statement by Russian President Vladimir Putin about the situation at the Lipetsk plant of the company, which was made yesterday, October 27, at the meeting of the discussion club “Valdai”.

Roshen belongs to the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, but transferred in trust management. Putin said that the factory had “some problems” but now he “works rhythmically”.

“For us it is strange that such a large figure as the President of the Russian Federation, is interested in such small things as the life of our factory in Lipetsk. Moreover, we had a better opinion of his intelligence as they had to let him know, Petro Oleksiyovych [Poroshenko] is not its owner — he signed a contract on the transfer of its share of “Roshen” in an independent trust in January of this year,” — said in a statement Moskalevsky, published on the website of Roshen.

“The statement of mister Putin at a meeting of the Valdai club only confirmed for us what we already knew back in 2014 for all tests, criminal cases and seizure of property, which we can’t sell the factory worth it”, — added the head of Roshen.

In the message Roshen also stated that the Corporation received and brought to Ukraine, $72 million of dividends from the assets in Lipetsk. With this amount in the budget of Ukraine was paid 125.6 million hryvnias of taxes, and the remaining money is invested in charity projects and invested in production development in Ukraine.

Speaking yesterday at session of the discussion club “Valdai”, Putin reminded that the factory Roshen in Lipetsk region belongs to Poroshenko. “We strive to respect the right of ownership — explained the President participant in the international forum. — The same applies to our foreign investors, including Ukrainian investors. Petro Oleksiyovych Poroshenko is one of such investors, mean that he is the owner of the enterprises in Lipetsk region”.

Putin added, however, at the enterprise “there are some problems associated with the payment of VAT”. “The judiciary has imposed certain restrictive measures, but the factory works, works rhythmically, pays a profit, and there are no restrictions associated with the use of the profit, including and its translation abroad”, — Putin said.

In April 2015 against the Lipetsk factory Roshen criminal case was initiated under part 5 of article 159 of the Russian criminal code (fraud in especially large size). According to investigators, during the construction of the factory was abducted 180 million roubles of budgetary funds. Less than a month later, on April 28, the Basmanny court of Moscow has seized property of the Lipetsk factory until September 13. At the end of may Roshen appealed the seizure and won the case in the Lipetsk arbitration.

October 7, 2016, the office of public Prosecutor of October district of Lipetsk said about the numerous violations of requirements of the legislation on industrial safety in the factory Roshen. The Supervisory Agency indicated that the incident was ordered on administrative offences and the perpetrators were fined.

Putting forward its candidacy for the post of President of Ukraine, Poroshenko promised in case of victory on elections to sell his main asset. Later it became known that Poroshenko has appointed Rothschild Trust Trustee for the management of Roshen. In April 2016 the Rothschild Group has confirmed this information.

In may of this year, “Kommersant” reported that the Lipetsk factory Roshen can buy “Slav”, but in most confectionery Corporation denied this information. According to the statement Roshen, such a deal was discussed a year ago, but never took place.
