Group “Russian nationalists” planned the murder of Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic in order to bring to power the opposition party. This was stated by the Montenegrin Prosecutor Milivoje Catnic investigating “an alleged plot”, Reuters reports.
“Organizers of this criminal group were nationalists from Russia, whose initial premise and the conclusion was that the government of Montenegro, led by Milo Djukanovic, cannot be replaced in the elections and that it should be overthrown by force,” — said the Prosecutor.
The goal was to kill the Prime Minister and party to help the opposition to take the Parliament, he said. What kind of party was going on, he said.
“The authorities found out that the criminal group was formed in the territory of Montenegro, Serbia and Russia, and its aim was to commit a terrorist act”, — said Katnic.
At the same time, he stated that “no evidence that Russia was involved in the terrorist attack, no”, reports TANJUG. “We will continue cooperation with Russian colleagues”, — he stressed.
