The speaker of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin has declared that the United States could change position on the recognition of the Crimea by Russia after the election of Donald trump to President. He stated this in an interview with NTV.
“[Donald] trump said about the rapprochement, trump spoke about building relations, trump talked about the recognition of the Crimea as part of Russia”, — said Volodin.
On specification of the leader that trump has talked about the possibility of recognition of Russian Crimea, the speaker said: “When a politician says “maybe” he does not deny”. In his opinion, “if we are talking about it during the election campaign, it must be said that it is perceived in a positive way”.
“Therefore, we will assume that it was a position that did not deny the consideration of the question in this way”, — said the speaker of the state Duma.
Previously to this issue and asked the press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov. In an interview with The Associated Press, he said that Moscow is ready to wait until the realization of the Crimea as part of Russia will come in Western countries and in the United States.
“We understand it will take time for our partners in Europe, for our partners in USA to understand it. We are patient enough to wait until this understanding happens here in Washington, in the United States, in Europe,” he said, noting that in Russia no one will debate this issue.
