The President of Russia Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, reported on the Kremlin website.
During the telephone conversation they discussed the situation around Russian gas transit to European consumers via Ukraine. Putin, in particular, made what forecasters predicted cold winter could increase the risk of unauthorized selection of Russian gas by Ukraine. The heads of state agreed that this topic will be discussed at the European Commission, and the Ministry of energy and “Gazprom”.
Putin and Merkel also discussed the Minsk agreements, “including taking into account the outcome of the summit in “Norman format”, held in Berlin on October 19.” “In this context expressed concern about the continued violations of the “regime of silence” in the Donbass”, — noted in the Kremlin.
The leaders also discussed the Syrian settlement, and “some issues of bilateral character.”
