Peskov responded to the request of the former assistant to Ronald Reagan about the Russian passport

Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov commented on the request of former assistant Secretary of the Treasury Paul Craig Roberts to obtain Russian citizenship, reports “RIA Novosti”.

“To obtain citizenship you need to issue a statement. If it is written, it will be considered,” Peskov said in comments to the Agency.

Earlier on the website of the American writer Paul Craig Roberts, who in the years 1981-1982 he held the post of assistant Secretary of the Treasury in the Ronald Reagan administration, there was an appeal to the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, in which Roberts asks grant him Russian citizenship.

As the former assistant head of the U.S. Treasury, after “a CIA agent Craig Timberg posing as a journalist for The Washington Post, have revealed me and presented as a Russian agent,” he wondered, “can I ask you a Russian passport and a bit of diplomatic protection”. He suggested that could become the press attache at the Russian Embassy in Washington.
