Russian legislation does not provide for participation in the presidential election of people “affected” voting rights, said the press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the statement by opposition leader Alexei Navalny that the government through judicial processes attempt to deprive him of the right to participate in elections.
“The people of the affected rights, under our laws, cannot participate in presidential elections”, — said the representative of the Kremlin (quoted by “Interfax”).
Earlier Navalny declared that the authorities of the judicial processes against him, trying to deprive him of the right of suffrage. “I want to again disenfranchise. If the process will go, I will again deprived of voting rights for three years”, — he told at the Leninsky district court of Kirov, where he began the re-consideration of the “case of Kirovec” he and Peter ofitserova.
