At the Council meeting of the lower house on Tuesday, December 6, all four factions of the state Duma expressed support for the resolution on changing the order of work of the deputies, according to which they will have a vacation from may 1 to 15 in exchange for the extension of the summer. This was stated by the leader of the faction “Fair Russia” Sergei Mironov, correspondent .
“Today in Council, all the factions supported”, — he said, adding that voting for the resolution, most likely, will take place on Friday, December 9.
The document was introduced the night before at the initiative of the Duma Committee on regulations. After the adoption of the document, the deputies will work until the end of July, the last week will be “regional”. The first two weeks of may will be “part of the annual paid leave” of deputies.
Earlier, a source in the leadership of the lower house reported “RIA Novosti” that the following year the state Duma can move on to the new schedule, which is to reduce summer holidays parliamentarians and extending the work until the end of July. Currently, the parliamentary holidays have two summer months — July and August.
“A politician cannot be absent two months. Two months for a politician is a political death,” — said the Agency interlocutor.
He noted that the state Duma is discussing the possibility to extend the work of deputies before the end of July and make the last week of this month, “regional”, when MPs will work with voters in regions.

The state Duma of the seventh convocation started working two months ago. According to the results of the elections held in the country on 18 September, the lower house has been updated for more than half, while parts of it remained the same.
“United Russia” in the new Duma has received 343 mandate, the Communist party 42 mandates, the liberal democratic party — 39 seats and “Fair Russia” — 22. Two more single-seat districts — Alexei Zhuravlyov of the Rodina party and a leader of the “Civic platform” Rifat Shaikhutdinov refused to join any Duma faction.
Speaker of the Duma of new convocation became Vyacheslav Volodin, who previously held the post of first Deputy head of the presidential administration.
