In Geneva saw the prospect of direct talks between Damascus and the opposition

The Syrian moderate opposition could begin direct negotiations with the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to bypass the Geneva format, said permanent representative of Russia to the Geneva office of the UN Alexey Borodavkin.

“If the next round would not be convened in the near future, it does not matter, with the participation of the Riyadh group or without it, the moderate, Patriotic Syrian opposition and the Syrian authorities can begin to negotiate without the UN”, — RIA Novosti quoted Borodavkin.

He said that according to available information, “it is thus configured with a Syrian opposition, is really aspiring to a political settlement of the conflict in Syria, to restore peace in the troubled Syrian soil”.
