Merkel called hitting the crowd in Berlin the terrorist attack


German Chancellor Angela Merkel during a television speech said that the German authorities believe that hitting the crowd in Berlin, in which 12 people were killed, was a terrorist attack, reports Bloomberg.

“There are many things in this act that which we desired certainty don’t know, but based on existing evidence we can conclude that this was a terrorist attack,” she said.

Earlier on Tuesday, December 20, the Berlin police reported that the truck was aimed at the crowd intentionally. Before that law enforcement authorities have classified the incident as an “attack”, and the interior Minister of Germany Thomas de maizière acknowledged that “says much” in favor of the attack.
