In Moscow there is a sense that the command of the US Democratic party is trying their recent decisions to take revenge on Donald Trump for his victory in the elections, said in an interview to “RIA Novosti” spokesman of the foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.
According to her, currently, “leaving the administration keeps trying to worsen bilateral relations, not realizing that there’s nowhere”. “Honestly, I have the feeling that now a team of Democrats just trying to get back at Trump for the victory, taking just an absurd decision for a month before his inauguration,” said Zakharova, citing the example of the decision to supply heavy weapons to the Syrian opposition.
According to Zakharova, there are all prerequisites in order to break through the impasse which resulted in relations between the two countries, the current US administration. “We believe that, of course, out of the impasse which resulted in Russian-American relations former inhabitants of the White house, you need to go, and now this has all the preconditions”, she said.
Foreign Ministry spokesman also said that even with the previous team USA, which “absolutely does not hide his anti-Russian policy on many issues”, the Russian government worked and “tried to find those points on which to engage in dialogue, although was ready for more, full-format cooperation”.
“For us, of course, there are things that we can not react. But our fundamental position is this: no matter how a partner is difficult — you need to work with him. Lock operation leads to a further complication of relations. So as he said and continue to say: we will work with any team,” — said Zakharov.
She also said that the claims by Washington that Moscow made a bet on trump and what is the “it candidate”, is not true. “The approval of the American establishment that Russia has put on trump and this is her candidate, is just one of the elements of information warfare. It’s not that,” said the Russian diplomat.
December 29, President Barack Obama signed the decree about introduction of new sanctions against Russia. In the sanctions list included the head of the GRU of the General staff Igor Korobov, his three deputies and accused of hacking Alexey Bilan and Evgeny Bogachev. Under the U.S. sanctions also are FSB, GRU, independent noncommercial organization “Professional Association of designers of Informatics systems”, LLC “Special technology center” and LLC “Digital weapons and protection” (DH).
Also the US State Department declared persona non grata 35 Russian diplomats. According to authorities, they acted “not in accordance with their diplomatic or consular status.”
The Russian foreign Ministry in response to the actions of the state Department has invited President Vladimir Putin to expel 31 employee of the U.S. Embassy and four employees of the Consulate General in St. Petersburg. However, Putin rejected this measure. “Reserving the right to retaliate, we will not stoop to the level of “cooking”, irresponsible diplomacy,” — said Putin. Further steps “for the restoration of Russian-American relations,” the Russian administration, he said, to take “based on the policy to be conducted by the administration of President Donald trump”.
The US President-elect Donald trump called the decision great. “The perfect solution. I always knew he was very intelligent,” wrote he in his Twitter.
