The exchange rate of the dollar fell below 60 rubles for the first time from July 2015, according to the auction on the Moscow stock exchange. As of 14:19 GMT, the dollar fell to the level 59,74 rubles per dollar. After this, the rate corrected to the level of 59,81 rubles per dollar. The day before, January 4, the auction closed at 60,46 rubles per dollar.
The last time the dollar below 60 rubles fell 31 July 2015. Then, the dollar has reached the minimum values 59,88 rubles per dollar. On high of that day he was trading at 61,75 rubles per dollar.
Exchange rate of the Euro also fell — to the level of 62,67 RUB for Euro. At maximum, the Euro was trading during the opening and reached at 10:15 MSK mark 63,76 RUB for Euro.
The fall in the exchange rate occurred against the background of increasing prices of Brent oil on the ICE exchange. At 14:20 GMT the March oil futures were trading at $56,74 per barrel. Intraday oil price amounted to more than 0.5%.
For the first time in 2017 trading on the Moscow exchange, the ruble was strengthening. So, the dollar exchange rate on 3 January fell below 61 rubles, to a mark of 60.8 Euro — to the level 63,64 RUB.
Then, the ruble has also strengthened against the background of rising oil prices — the price of a barrel rose above $57.
