The Senate intelligence Committee announced the beginning of a comprehensive investigation “of Russian cyber attacks,” which affect individuals associated with both administrations. As Reuters informs, this was announced in a joint statement, leaders of the Committee, Republican Richard Barr and Democrat Mark Warner.
The Committee plans to interview senior officials from the Obama administration and future President Donald trump. If necessary, interview will be call for a conversation summons, the statement said.
“How santotsky the intelligence Committee, we believe that it is important to have a complete understanding of the extent of Russian intelligence activities affecting United States”, – quotes a joint statement to Bloomberg. “This issue affects the foundations of our democratic system, and this is very important,” added Warner. “It requires a complete, thorough and bipartisan investigation”.
The senators added that part of the hearing will be open and part – closed so as not to publicize intelligence information. In the end, the Committee plans to publish its findings.
