Labor Minister supported the proposal to limit cash payments

The proposal to restrict Russia expensive purchases for cash “very well”, said the Minister of labour and social protection Maxim Topilin, reports TASS.

“It is the right decision. Where you abroad buy something expensive with cash? There €500 anywhere to change it is impossible”, — said the Minister.

The head of the Ministry of Finance Anton Siluanov during the Congress of “United Russia” urged to revisit the issue of banning payment for large purchases in cash. “Many countries are following this path — especially look at India, there went a large-scale attack on cash payments”, — gave the example of the Minister. “It is very correct,” — said Siluanov.

According to the head of the Ministry of Finance, such restrictions are part of the “whitewashing the economy”, “through this tool could collect more taxes, make the economy more transparent.”

Siluanov proposed a “go slow”, setting to start “a certain level to buy expensive goods”, which cannot be purchased for cash. In the example the Minister cited the purchase of apartments and cars. “In any case, buying an apartment or a car, carry money in a bag or suitcase — it’s just probably the last century!” — said Siluanov.
