President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that his visit to the United States will be held in the near future. This statement Ukrainian leader has made on joint a press briefing in Kiev with the Prime Minister of Greece Alexis Tsipras, who is on a visit to Ukraine, reports TV channel “112 Ukraine”.
Poroshenko reminded of recent telephone conversation between him and the President of the United States Donald trump. The Ukrainian President called the conversation “very productive, very constructive, very friendly” during which they discussed a wide range of issues of our cooperation. Among them, according to Poroshenko, “Russian aggression in the East of Ukraine”, “the illegal annexation of Crimea” and “to coordinate joint actions in this direction.”
“We agreed that in the near future will be my visit to the United States,” said Poroshenko, noting that “technical preparations for this visit,” it was decided to send to the USA the Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin to conduct the necessary negotiations.
The TV channel notes that earlier the Ukrainian Ambassador to the US admitted that Poroshenko’s visit to the States can take place in the second half of February.
Poroshenko and the tramp for the first time since the inauguration of the American President talked on the phone the night of 5 February. The press service of the Ukrainian President then reported that “special attention was paid to the settlement of the situation in the Donbass and achieving peace through political and diplomatic means”. The white house, in turn, noted that during the conversation the topic of Donbass rose, and trump has stated that he will work with Ukraine and with Russia and other parties in order to restore peace along the border. The report also noted that the party condemned the upcoming visit of Poroshenko in the United States.
