The Ministry of internal Affairs of Belarus initiated preliminary examination of the actions of officials of the Russian Federal service for veterinary and phytosanitary surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor).
The interior Ministry noted that the actions of officials see signs of crimes. Speech in particular goes about discrediting business reputation of competitors (article 249 of the Criminal code of the Republic of Belarus).
“Individual officials of the Rosselkhoznadzor in the interests not related to their professional activities, without sufficient reason and in violation of international law limiting the possibility of realization of Belarusian goods on the territory of the Russian Federation, and also carried out the dissemination of false information, damaging domestic producers”, — reads the statement of the interior Ministry.
According to the Agency, only direct losses of the agricultural enterprises of Minsk region, whose rights to supply products to Russia was limited by the decision of the Rosselkhoznadzor, was about 5 million Belarusian rubles (approximately us $2,63 million).
The interior Ministry said its experts collected evidence will be submitted to the Investigative Committee “to give a legal assessment”.
“It is their right. Even if checked,” — said the representative of Rosselkhoznadzor Julia Melano, adding that he is not surprised by the actions of the Belarusian authorities. Thus, according to her, no response from its part, the Department does not intend to take because its decisions have in fact confirmed the facts of smuggling of banned goods.
In early December 2016, the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has accused the head of the Rosselkhoznadzor Sergey Dankvert “obgazhivanii” Belarusian products, and in early February of 2017 has demanded to Institute against Dankvert criminal case.
“We need to study the issue and to initiate a criminal case according to Dankvert….for damage to the state. When he will be in custody, then he will realize what he is doing. I will say the main thing: first, all of these Dankvert — people are concerned, everyone has a huge latifundia, they are manufacturers of a product”, — said Lukashenka to journalists (quoted by RNS).
The press service of the Kremlin said then that the call Lukashenka a criminal case against the head of the Rosselkhoznadzor, is puzzling.
“We believe that he, a Russian supervision, performs its functions, execute them brilliantly and we are really puzzled in connection with this decision,” — said in a statement received in a press-service.
Sergey Dankvert recommended the Belarusian authorities to first deal with those who through Belarus imports to Russia sanctions products.
