At the talks in 2012, Putin and Rakhmon signed an agreement on prolongation of stay of the base in Tajikistan until 2042 with the possibility of extending the contract for a period of five years.
Following the visit it is also planned to sign seven intergovernmental agreements, including in the field of environmental protection, the use of nuclear energy.
February 28, Putin visited Bishkek, where he will hold talks with President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev.
With the leaders of the countries of Central Asia, Putin this year will meet again. In April possible the participation of the President in the summit of the Eurasian economic Union in Bishkek. In June, Putin will attend the summit of Shanghai cooperation organization held in Kazakhstan, has announced Ushakov. In October the leaders will meet in Moscow for the CIS summit.
