As reported by Reuters, citing Syrian monitoring centre for human rights, several of the terrorists blew himself up near the headquarters of the state security service and the building of the military intelligence in HOMS.
According to preliminary information, the attack killed at least 14 people, including a senior military intelligence officer.
While no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
The city of HOMS was one of the centers of opposition to Bashar al-Assad at the beginning of the so-called “Arab spring.” Currently, most of the provincial centre is controlled by the government army. The only exception is one area in which remain the representatives of the moderate opposition.
The attack in HOMS occurred against the backdrop of ongoing fighting in the East of the province, where the government army continues to slowly advance towards the captured terrorists of the “Islamic state” (is prohibited in Russia organizations) Palmyra.
