Nigerian pirates have freed the captured Russian sailors


All eight sailors from the cargo ship BBC Caribbean, captured by pirates in early February off the coast of Nigeria have been released. As reported TASS, said the Commissioner for human rights in Sevastopol Pavel Buzy.

In captivity of the pirates were seven Russians and one citizen of Ukraine. The attack on the ship occurred in the Gulf of Guinea, near Pennington oil terminal. The freighter approached the boat with the armed people.

8 Feb the company-the owner of the vessel Briese Schiffart told that the capture of the ship learned there 5 Feb. “In the time of the attack firearm at people is not applied and the ship too. Armed pirates came on the boat, climbed aboard, took a crew and went on a boat to the side of the Nigerian banks”, — said General Director of St. Petersburg branch of the company Pavel Fedulov.
