Volodin has offered to hold presidential elections on the day of annexation of Crimea

The Russian presidential election in 2018 could be held on March 18 — the day of the annexation of Crimea. Speaker of the state Duma Vyacheslav Volodin considers this a promising idea and supports it, reports “Interfax”.

He explained that on 18 March, 2018 will be a Sunday, and by law, presidential elections can be scheduled for this day.

“And the fact that this day coincides with a remarkable anniversary that we are celebrating for several years, it is very good,” said Volodin.
