The Director of the Federal Bureau of investigation United States (FBI), James Comey for the first time officially confirmed that the investigation is ongoing “Russian intervention in elections,” reports The Washington Post.
Komi said that to make this statement it authorized the U.S. justice Department. According to him, the investigation for the origin of “any” ties between the election of US President Donald trump with the Russian government.
“The Ministry of justice has authorized me to confirm that the FBI is part of the efforts of the U.S. intelligence community is investigating the efforts of the Russian government’s intervention in the presidential election of 2016. This includes investigating any links between the persons associated with his campaign trump, and the Russian government, and the question of whether there was any coordination between his campaign and the efforts of Russia,” said Komi.

Earlier last week Komi privately informed the congressmen that there were no grounds for accusations of trump in relations with the Russian government was not, said the newspaper.
