Latvian security services have accused Russia of cyber espionage

Director of the “Bureau for the protection of the Constitution” of Latvia Janis Maizitis said that in 2016 Russia conducted cyber espionage against separate Latvian politicians, journalists and government agencies.

As reported by the portal Delfi, he said after a government meeting, where he reported on the results of his Department in 2016.

Maizitis said that the intelligence agencies of Latvia have no information about the leak as a result of the espionage data containing a state secret.

The head of the Bureau noted that the activity of “espionage activities of Russia” last year remained at the level of 2015. “In General, it can be estimated as the average”, — writes the edition.
