Exceptions to the question of the admission of the Russians Yulia Samoilova to Ukraine for participation in “Eurovision”. This was stated by the foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin at a press conference after a meeting of foreign Ministers of NATO countries in Brussels, reports the correspondent of TASS with reference to his correspondent.
“The answer is very simple. Concessions are impossible, because one law for all”, — said Klimkin.
“RIA Novosti” adds that this statement Klimkin was in answer to a reporter’s question, pointeresovatsya whether or not to allow Samoilova to participate in “Eurovision” in connection with the possible boycott of the competition in other countries. “We are committed to the principle of the rule of law, and only the implementation of the law will enable us to continue the work. Earlier Friday, the head of the European broadcasting Union (EBU) Ingrid Deltenre sent a letter to the Prime Minister of Ukraine Vladimir Groisman, which reported that a number of European countries to refuse participation in “Eurovision” because of the position of Ukraine on Samoilova. Deltenre indicated he had already received several similar reports from some European countries. “We ask you to intervene to ensure that the Russian singer will be able to come to Ukraine in may and to take part in the competition,” the letter reads.
Russia at the contest “Eurovision-2017”, which will be held in Kiev, was supposed to represent the singer Yulia Samoilova. However, the Ukrainian authorities banned her from entering the country for three years because she performed at the festival in the Crimea, which Kyiv considers to be temporarily occupied territory.
